somethings that we are going to try and do that are around kitsap

As a mom of two rambunctious kids a boy whose 7 years old and a girl whose 5 years old. I'm always trying to find things to do that doesn't cost a fortune to do or involves being outside since it seems to rain constantly here in the state of Washington. I have compiled a list of somethings to do some of these things we have done and some we haven't tried yet but will be soon. Keyport naval undersea museum-We did this one last weekend on Sunday the 10 March 2013 aiden was a little scared at first because we came in the diving suits that the Navy used were right there and that freaked him out a bit. He started to warm up after a bit. The museum was nice it was kid friendly had an area for kids to play and dress up in navy uniforms with covers as well. The kids also goto to talk on sound power phones which they thought that was awesome. The best part was there was an area that they got to pretend they were in a submarine and be in with the controls and drive the submarine, My kids got to see kind of what their daddy did as part of his job when he was in the military. The cost was free there wasn't really busy at all and they got to take coloring pages home to color, They had a blast so I would recommend this place also and the best part its free. The bug museum- We went and discovered the bug museum which is in bremerton and across from the shipyard. The bug museum was free and it was pretty cool the kids had a lot of fun looking at the ants, spiders and different types of bugs. It also had some reptiles in another room that housed snakes and lizards. I was pretty impressed with this place, it took us about 30 minutes to walk through. They also had a tortoise that was in a fenced area that was just roaming in that area, the kids got to touch his shell, they were pretty psyched about being able to touch the shell. The library which we frequently visit since its free to borrow books gives the kids something educational. Kidimu which is banbridge island looks fun and not expensive 6.00 a person and there's a coupon for a free admission bogo. So we plan on doing that one. poulsbo marine center this looks pretty cool to do. We did do this on a weekend it was pretty cool the kids really enjoyed walking around and looking at all of the fish and sea life that we have here around the Puget sound. The cost was free and then took them to ice cream at a local ice cream shop. Which was very good, it was creamy and delicious I have to say. We will be doing this outing again in the near future. It took about 20 minutes to walk through, there was a coloring/activity area at the end which we did stay at that part to color and play with some of the things they had in there. The staff were very helpful and educated they had a lot of information to share with us. play kitsap looks like a place that we went to in Ohio and we loved it so gonna check that place out. imagination station Port orchard its an indoor play center for kids 0-6 cost is 7.00 per child and 5.00 for sibling and that's for all day. We did this yesterday March 15 2013 I didn't get any pics of maddie playing but I would recommend this for everyone. Maddie had a lot of fun playing in the houses, grocery shopping with the pretend food and grocery carts, also they had a playset that had a huge slide that she could have gone down. They also had tables that were set up on the side so I was able to drink my coffee and study for the nclex while she played. It was all enclosed so she couldn't leave without someone opening the door from the opposite side. We did have a little bit of a problem everyone has to have socks on so we had to buy her some socks from the dollar tree, and her sweatshirt got swiped so I would advice to not put coats or sweatshirts on the hooks, next time I will take her stuff inside with me to wherever I am sitting at. the Victorian tea house I want to take my daughter her for tea I think she would really love having a somewhat of a tea party since she is at that age where she wants to have tea parties. Jump Gig harbor inflatables admission 7.00 siblings 5.00 another place we are going to try. play a latte just my place drink a latte while the kids play and have adult conversation. Admission is 7.00 and 4.50 for each additional child

Claritin D 12 hour product review

I like to try new products to see if the newer product is better than the current that I've been using. So I decided to try the new Claritin D 12 hour relief product to see if maybe it would work better on my sinus infections. Since I seem to get them constantly up here in Washington and let me tell you they suck. The other day I had some horrible sinus pressure and was in pain so I took one I was pretty impressed with Claritin D it did its job and I was able to be a mom with having much pain due to the sinus infection. I would recommend this product to others. I had pretty good luck and outcome with this product.

the biggest test of my life

So I took my nclex boards yesterday in Renton, Washington. I got up at 530 am and drove an hour away to take the biggest test of my life, only to come out thinking that I have failed this 200.00 dollar test and 2 yrs of schooling. I have to wait a little bit over 24 hours to find out whether or not I have failed this test. So the waiting game has begun for me and my family oh how stressful that is, I can't wait for this week to be over. So I went to the gym to take a step aerobic class for the first time and that was fun I really enjoyed that and will be doing that again with Athena and then 40 minutes on the treadmill, hoping that would take some of the stress of waiting away for a couple of minutes (maybe just a couple of minutes). But we shall see our fate either tomorrow or Wednesday.

our first adventure

The first week of our adventure we stayed a week in St Louis, Missouri. Took the kids to the park a couple of times this week that really helped with their energy level that t
hey have and nowhere to run to. And man I do wish that I had their energy I could get everything that I need to do in a week possibly done in one day and that would be amazing. Yesterday was Sunday and we took them to this transportation museum. I was quite impressed it was mainly trains and outside we got to go inside and look around the kids got to pull the bell. We also rode on a trolley that was connected to the cables still. If would highly recommend this spot to see it was an all day adventure but my kids loved it their ages are 4 and 7. We also had a lot of photo oops available let which makes it annoying for my two who seem to get annoyed with me for taking to many pictures of them. And my lovely pics aren't downloading off of this lovely tablelet

Nursing school acomplished

As we move forward in life we learn to do things differently. This time last year I was admitted into Nursing school and was super excited to start this new adventure in my life. And Now here we are I have accomplished it I graduated on Aug 24 2012 from Licensed practical nursing school even though its only a certificate I feel as though I have acomplished a huge goal of mine. There were times I didn't think that I would make it. There were some terms that I came pretty close to failing even though I gave it my all. I guess sometimes putting your all into something can give you strength to keep moving forward. We are looking at going home to Seattle to start over a new and very challenging life. But all in all I know we can do it.

Hello Kitty crayons how fun

Today, I finally got around to doing these broken crayons that have been awaiting my attention for madisyn. She has been begging me for when is she going to get her hello kitty new crayons. So today she got her wish :)
We set the stove for 350 baked the broken and peeled crayons for 10 minutes, and then
we took them out and let them sit for a little bit until they cooled.
And we have a finish product
And then she colored.
I am still on the hunt for molds of batman and superheros for aiden, He's not to into the whole hello kitty thing for coloring with.

My cute little ballerina

Madisyn has begun ballet a one of the local ballet studios. She seems to like it but can't seem to dance the whole hour that her class is. She tells me that she is tired so I don't know what to do but keep taking her and hopefully she will begin to stay and dance the whole hour that the class is, but we shall see how long this lasts.

Making Laundry soap

Update One of my Lo's has bedsheets and pajamas that reek of urine. I usually have to wash them 3 times with vinegar and laundry soap. I washed them in one load with this soap and no smell. I am super excited that I found something to get the urine smell out of his bedding and his clothes. I am very impressed and will probably do this for now on. And the best part it only took about 5 minutes to make it.

I have decided to try making our own laundry soap, it has taken us almost a year to get down to the last bottle of laundry soap that I had practicularly gotten for free by using coupons. So now onto the next experiment I really hope this works but I plan to do laundry tonight. So this is the perfect time to try something new. I hope that works. So here goes a shot at this.

So this is my breakdown of how much I spent on everything that I bought.
1- 3 pack ivory soap(free with coupons)
1- 55 oz box Arm and hammer super washing soda(3.00)
1- 76 oz box 20 mule team borax(4.69) (I know this is cheaper at walmart but they were completely out of it)
so for this I used
1 cup borax
1cup super washing soda
1 bar of soap grated with a cheese grater

mixed all of it together and then put 2 tablespoons in the wash. So far it has washed the clothes but theres no scent which is really odd for me. But I can live with it. So I think I need to try the fabric softener so I can get a smell to our clothes.

The pajama pants that got reused for something.

I have been saving a pair of pajama pants that have been in my laundry room for oh I don't know how long, with a hole in them and I knew that I couldn't fix them for me to wear them again. So I decided to use them to make madisyn a pair of Pajama pants and I wasn't sure if there would even be enough material to make her a pair, because of the location and how big the hole was in them, but there was enough so I made her a pair. She was so excited to wear them when I tried them on her to get a length for the ruffle on the bottom that she didn't want to take them off. So now she has a pair of incomplete pajama bottoms that she refuses to take off. Oh well at least she likes them and wants to wear them unlike the pillowcase dresses or anything like that.

My little one in my wedding dress.

Sometimes you just have to try things that you see on Pinterest. The site that is so addicting and once you start you can't stop. So as this adventure of finding many different yummy recipes to try there was a really cute photo of a little girl in her mommy's wedding dress. I had to try it and let me tell you it was a lot more complicated then it looked in the picture so heres my little maddie in my wedding dress for her to look back on when she gets married one day, and I know that someday it will be all worth the trouble.
